Arguably my favorite trance song ever.

The heart dies, a slow death,
    shedding each hope like leaves...

... until one day there are
    none. No hopes. Nothing remains.

My favorite Polish song. It encompasses most of my Polish vocabulary as well.

Die Prinzen is a German band that goes back to the early 1990's. My favorite albums are coincidentally their early stuff. One of my roommates in Paris was from Germany and she introduced me to this band. Deutschland was one of the official theme songs of our flat. The lyrics are supposed to be ironic, but I do love Germany!

Gott hat die Erde nur einmal geküsst
Genau an dieser Stelle, wo jetzt Deutschland ist
Wir sind überall die besten - natürlich auch im Bett
Und zu Hunden und Katzen besonders nett

(God kissed the earth just once
Right on the spot where Germany is now
We're the best everywhere - naturally also in bed
And we're especially nice to dogs and cats)

Bereisen Sie Deutschland und bleiben Sie hier
Auf diese Art von Besuchern warten wir
Es kann jeder hier wohnen, dem es gefällt
Wir sind das freundlichste Volk auf dieser Welt

    (Visit Germany and stay here
It's this kind of visitor we wait for
Anyone who likes it can live here
We're the friendliest people in this world)
Until I can figure out how to fix it, you'll need to start at the bottom. Oldest posts at the bottom; newest at the top.
So 3 posts, 3 French speaking artists. My favorite band, however, is American. I saw them shortly after arriving in Paris in 2007. They played a little pub with maybe 200 people. It was the most amazing show I've ever been to. A great note about that show was that every person knew every word to the songs. They may not have understood all the words, but they knew them all by heart.

I didn't find many "offical" Coheed and Cambria videos on Youtube. I don't consider Coheed "emo", but there seems to be a bunch of emo videos using Coheed's music. So ignore this, and enjoy the music.

The Willing Well IV: The Final Cut brings your anger to a boil. The song is short on lyrics, but they pack a punch. Both shows I've seen live have ended with this song. Lead singer Claudio Sanchez is simply amazing on the guitar solos. At different points, he uses his teeth and plays the guitar behind his head.

    "Will they ever measure up
To the way you left me?
    Here by the roadside
    The bloodiest cadaver
    Marked in your words:
    I'm the joke,
    I'm the bastard

Here wait, so I guess that you knew
That you're a selfish little whore
    I'm the selfish little whore
If I had my way I'd crush your face in the door"

    Aggression released
    .

Marc Antoine is a Quebecois R&B singer. He reminds me of a better early Tyrese. His songs touch my heart. I could put his album on repeat for days.

Tant besoin de toi: Song about the struggle for love and the love that's lost. The video shows that sometimes even love can't overcome people's ridiculous prejudices.

Comme il se doit:I am terrible when it comes to breaking up. This song shows that you let someone live their life after you; sometimes it's so hard to do.

Triste Novembre took me by surprise. Not interpreting the French in your mind, the song could be about love, maybe anger. When you start listening to the words, you find that he's talking about the taboo subject of incense. He delivers a powerful song about the incredible burden that a child will have to carry for the rest of their life.

Marc Antoine is a brilliant singer who you could enjoy even if you didn't understand a word of French.

Lylloo is a 17 year old French teen that I can only equate with Miley Cirus. Her songs seem silly to adults, but not to the age demographic. There was a cheesy song that was popular when I was in France. Thankfully, Lylloo isn't a man dressed up in drag.

    Helmut Fritz

Starting with the videos listed on RonWertz.net

Helmut Fritz is a French singer from Béning-lès-Saint-Avold in NE France.

Helmut Fritz's videos are amazing. I could watch each 1,000 times and would enjoy every minute of it. His dress is strangely "Scarface-esqe".

The first video is Ca m'énerve. It is about things that you encounter that are "very annoying." At the end he complains of people lined up outside a boulangerie waiting for Macaroons. Then he comments how good they are!

His second video is equally entertaining. Ratings for the Miss America pagent have gone down steadily for years. His take on the beauty pageants isn't too far removed from Americans'

I love music; in any language. I pride myself on having a broad knowledge of music you don't hear on today's bullshit radio. When I meet someone, I usually turn them onto a band, group, or individual they didn't even know existed. Typically, music says the things I wish I could say; or it finds the words and expresses my feelings at a point in time. So in an attempt to put my newest finds in a place where they are readily available, I present to you "Music for Your Utopia".
Youtube has a surprisingly incredible amount of music. If I can't find it on Youtube, I'll try to find it on Rapidshare or the musicians site directly. Enjoy/Genießen Sie.
